Milestones

1979: Helga and Herbert Broschek take over the practically bankrupt company of JOWA – Holzschuhfabrik in Fieberbrunn.

1982: Karl Neuner takes over the technical and commercial management of the company. By developing completely new, health-orientated shoes, he lays the foundation for the VITAL wellness shoes.

1983: Presentation of the FLEXI light-wood shoe: the world's first flexible, foam-surrounded clogs. Internationally honoured patent.

1987: The start of a new era: the VITAL shoe is presented as a genuine footwear innovation, bearer of unique product advantages. Steadily rising sales successes both at home and abroad make VITAL into a globally known premium brand.

1989: The next internationally well-regarded innovation takes the market by storm: the VITAL-RWO-SHR health shoe. This special reflex zones shoe was developed in conjunction with Dr Thonet Tschen, head of the RWO-SHR HEALTH INSTITUTE INTERNATIONAL (Taipei).

Due to the great successes of the VITAL products, the company changes its name to VITAL Schuhe GmbH.
